PHD PROGRAMME OF ANCIENT HISTORY –
Requirements / Courses
Prerequisites of
application
The PhD Programme of Ancient History expects the
application of graduated students (with a degree either in History, Latin, or
Ancient Greek, with at least “Good” results) who are interested in Greek or
Roman history and are capable of analysing sources in Latin and/or Greek. A degree or a final certificate (abszolutórium) in
Latin or in Ancient Greek is an advantage to students with History degree. The
research profile of the Department is ancient epigraphy supporting
investigations in social, military, economic, and religious history. We expect
candidates primarily in these fields of interest,
however, topics in historiography are also acceptable.
